Cloud Cult Scores Music for National Geographic- Watch this Week!

Since Cloud Cult's last live performance in the Fall of 2011, Singer/songwriter, Craig Minowa, has been working in the studio on writing the new album. In addition, Minowa was hired to score music in the Cloud Cult vein for a National Geographic documentary series entitled "America the Wild". This weekend, episodes of the show's second season will begin airing on Nat Geo Wild stations. Check out the schedule and watch/listen to trailers here. This is the second season of America the Wild. Sorry it's been so long since we have posted any news. It has been a busy winter in the underground. The new Cloud Cult album is in the process of being created. There's no set release date, as of yet, but the new songs have us really excited. We've also got some new shows in the process of being secured. We'll post them as they are confirmed, but for the moment, you can definitely plan to see us at Sasquatch in May. We hope your winter has been introspectively rejuvinating, and we look forward to seeing you!

Merry Christmas from Cloud Cult! Craig and Connie are also proud to announce the birth of their new little girl, Iris Aurora! She's the best present we could imagine having.

To celebrate a season of focusing on the love family and friends, here's a new music video that was put together by a Cloud Cult fan who is doing some great work helping parents be the best they can be. The song is "Love You All" from the Cloud Cult album "Feel Good Ghosts".

Cloud Cult Covers The Beatles "Help"

A new compilation CD of Beatles cover songs hit the North American CMJ radio charts this week at #6 (Most Adds). The album is a charity project organized by Vega Productions. All proceeds go to supporting music and art education in Minnesota. Cloud Cult kicks off the album with the first track, doing a cover of "Help". Cloud Cult's "Running with the Wolves" can now be performed by YOU on your Wii. Yeah, weird but true. The game was released this week by JustJam. It provides a completely new approach that brings the player even closer to the music where they can truly interact with the music, not just listen. Thanks to all who came out to see us on the recent East Coast Tour. The tickets to our upcoming July and August shows are selling fast, so if you werre planning on checking out a show, we'd recommend ordering your tickets ahead of time.
Our very own pianist, Sarah Jane, has started her own music studio. She's currently taking students for summer and fall in the Twin Cities area. If you're interested in taking lessons - adults or kids - reach out to her on Facebook!

We've put together a new show that will include a handful of songs we've previously never done on stage, new back screen video, our new cellist (as well as the rest of the Cloud Cult regulars), and the spinning canvases of the Cloud Cult painters. We're also excited to be doing these dates with the gorgeous sounds of The Wilderness of Manitoba.

After Much Healing, Cloud Cult Returns to the Stage

Hi Cloud Cult Friends!

A big thanks to everyone for the support through Craig Minowa's (Cloud Cult's singer/songwriter) recent health issues. The loving emails and positive energy were incredibly appreciated and powerful during the darkest parts of the experience. The heart surgery was a big success, and Craig now has more energy than ever!

The healing has gone so well, in fact, that we're ready to take the stage this week (Mankato, MN) for the first time since December of last year. As previously announced, we also have a new cellist, Daniel Zamzow, who has learned a massive amount of material in a very short period of time. As a band, we're excited to bring some new songs (from past albums) to the stage.

Although our April shows are mostly regional (with some private events), we have posted our 2011 Spring/Summer national tour dates on our website www.cloudcult.com and on Facebook.

We look forward to seeing your shining faces again soon...

Cloud Cult is honored to welcome a new cellist to our family. His name is Daniel Zamzow, and he's already blowing our minds as we rehearse for upcoming Spring touring. He's got big shoes to fill with the departure of the uber-talented Sarah Young, but he's definitely already proving he's up to the challenge. We'd like to thank everyone who auditioned for the position. There's a lot of talented and beautiful souls out there, and we're thankful to meet some of you!

We're excited for you all to meet Daniel, and we're posting new shows to our website (www.cloudcult.com) right now. We look forward to seeing you on the Spring 2010 tour!

January & Feb Shows Canceled For Healing

Cloud Cult has announced the cancellation of the band's upcoming performances at First Avenue (January 21) and Lutsen (February 5).

On Thursday, Cloud Cult's Craig Minowa was hospitalized with heart issues. Although the condition necessitates a temporary hiatus from performances, doctors are suggesting a noninvasive heart surgery would likely be performed in the next few weeks to bring permanent remedy to the problem. We apologize for any complications, and we look forward to returning with more energy than ever in the coming months.
